Inhoud en structuur

Bereik en inhoud

The Shackleford Family Collection consists of paper-based research files, paper-based photographs, and a CD containing photographs about and depicting Pintlala, Alabama’s Shackleford family. The research files consist of a Pintlala Historical Association newsletter from 2011 focusing on the Shackleford family. The photographs and a scrapbook belonged to Mary Fleta Shackleford, granddaughter of George Shackleford. Most of the photographs appear to date from the late nineteenth century.

Waardering, vernietiging en slectie

The Montgomery County Archives’ mission statement notes that the MCA collects non-government records related to Montgomery County Alabama, as long as they pertain to the history of Montgomery County. One item will be removed from this collection, a book titled The Recording Angel. The book will be deaccessioned because it is not an original, unique item. Many libraries have The Recording Angel in their collections. The MCA offered the book to Mark L. Fennel, the collection donor. The MCA is awaiting a response from Mr. Fennel. Until a response is received, the book will not be removed.
